The Susan G. Komen organization, commonly referred to as Komen, is a non-profit organization focused on breast cancer research, education, advocacy, and support. It was founded in 1982 by Nancy G. Brinker in memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died of breast cancer at the age of 36.
